Going on a luxury escorted tour should be on the list of everyone that loves to travel. Being invited on a luxury gold tour hosted by Insight Vacations was an incredible experience. (This article is Part 1 of 3 about my Insight Vacations Luxury Gold Ultimate Italy Travels)
1. Arriving at the Rome Regina Hotel
All the hotels on the tour were absolutely exquisite! The first impression of my hotel in Rome began my trip on the right foot. The hotel provided me with everything I needed to ensure I was in comfort in Rome.
2. Exploring Rome
Exploring Rome in style made a big difference in my trip. Walking through Rome was like walking back in time. The most amazing part of the day was visiting one of the most iconic destinations in Rome, The Trevi Fountain. The fountain proved to be a sight I will never forget!
3. Dinner at Pizzeria San Marco
The first dinner of the trip was at San Marco, and proved to be a great one! Before we began, we had a wine pairing and tasting. After the pairing and tasting, we shared bruschetta and other appetizers, followed with a wood-fire baked pizza. After the fantastic dinner, we ended the evening with a night tour in our luxury motor coach.
4. Early entry to the Sistine Chapel
After our unforgettable first night in Rome, we started out our second day by visiting the Sistine Chapel before it was open to the public. Our local expert, Amelia was extremely knowledgeable and answered any questions that arose throughout the day. We were treated to a private viewing of the Vatican City and literally had the entire courtyard to ourselves to explore. Unfortunately, we were unable to take pictures inside the Sistine Chapel. Overall though, the day was spectacular and I was able to see the sights as few others get to view them!
5. Papal Audience in Rome
During our stay in Rome, we were able to attend a speech by the pope! He addresses the masses twice a week. The crowd that attends is absolutely amazing!
6. Touring the Coliseum
The third day of our trip included a tour of the Coliseum. The Coliseum is one of the most visited destinations in Rome. The amazing site comes with amazing lines to get in…except for us! We were able to circumnavigate the lines thanks to our traveling concierge and Insight Vacations Luxury Gold.
7. Exploring The Jewish Ghetto of Rome with Hannah
Another great aspect of our Luxury Gold Escorted Tour by Insight Tours was that we had time to explore by ourself. Sometimes you just need an afternoon to yourself so you can see everything you want to see, without everyone else. On my day away from everyone, I decided to visit the Jewish Ghetto of Rome with Hannah and was able to experience the culinary delights that were available there. Overall, the day was well spent!
8. Dinner in Rome with Musical Surprises
The tour put on by Insight Vacations Luxury Gold had surprises nearly every day for us. From early viewings of the Sistine Chapel to getting to skip the lines to enter the Coliseum, the amount of surprises during the trip were amazing. For tonight, we were able to experience a private opera that was one I will always remember.
9. Private Concert
The private opera was truly an unforgettable experience and I am happy I was able to capture it on video to share with the world.
10. Exploring Calcata and Perujia
Incredible experiences are guaranteed on any Luxury Gold Escorted Tour by Insight Vacations. Hidden gems are also to be found. For our tour, our hidden gems were the towns of Calcata and Perujia. Perujia is the home of Baci Chocolates, as well as beautiful historic buildings and vistas.
