#RBQuests: Healing Waters and the BEAST in Puerto Rico

There are so many reasons to visit Puerto Rico but on March 27, 2014 I found a few more!

It was hard for me to leave CopaMarina Resort and the great diving with Captain Frank but I did enjoy my day exploring new adventures. Our first stop was to Aguas de Coamo where I hula hooped with Ramon “Gato” Gomez of WAPA TV. He was filming the fountain of youth for the local program “Entre Nosotras.” Locals claim that these healing thermal waters were discovered by Ponce de Leon.

While Cameraman Ed Mariota and I were getting younger at Aguas de Coamo, the rest of the team was getting caffeinated with Sebastian Legner, Barista and entrepreneur at La Hacienda Pomerrosa.

Ed and I continued our day with a different dose of adrenaline by visiting Toro Verde Nature Adventure Park and home of the second longest and highest zipline in the world. I had only ever been on one zipline before. A very tame family friendly zipline in Palau. I was a bit concerned about riding the Beast! A giant thank you to Roberto, Gabriel and Jose who took great care of me and although I was scared, I have to say I truly enjoyed it so much! It was like flying through the air like a bird! I would definitely go again!

I really enjoyed riding the Beast at Toro Verde Adventure Park!

After all the excitement, it was time for some fine dining so we went to enjoy the fantastic Yellow Tail Snapper, Batata Mash and Papaya Avocado Salad at Jose Enrique‘s Restaurant in Santurce. Jose Enrique is listed as one of the top ten  Food and Wine Young Chefs of 2013. Read about him in the April 2014 Conde Naste Traveler and for his newest and fourth restaurant to open soon in Vieques! Definitely start your evening with their white sangria and Asian Swordfish Salad. I also really liked the Mamposteao (mixed rice and white beans, it was almost like risotto.)
