This photo was taken during sunrise at 17,000 ft. on the side of Misti Volcano. The volcano is located outside of Arequipa in Southern Peru. We climbed it over the course of two days to reach the still active crater and summit at 19,000 ft. Day two began with a 1 am wake up call and this shot was snapped of our guide at sunrise on a Canon camera because my iPhone died from the high altitude.

Dianne Minardi travels full time and lives out of a carry on bag. She works online and moves to a new city every five weeks. In 2017 she traveled through Colombia and Peru while 2018 found her in the Balkans and Eastern Europe and 2019 will begin in Istanbul.
