How the Photo was Taken

This image was taken with a Sony A7R digital (mirrorless) camera and FE 24/70mm f4 lens. Natural light. Original colour image was cropped slightly and then converted to b/w.

Photo Location

The photo was taken in the classroom of a rural school junior/secondary in Zanzibar. All of the students were paying attention to the teacher when this child turned around to look at me. She gazed at me for a few seconds before turning her attention back to the teacher. It was moment of pure magic for me and the image still brings a lump to my throat.
