How the Photo was Taken

I took this photo using my Nikon DSLR using natural light. I did not alter this image.

Photo Location

I worked on a project about the ways Maasai women were improving their community. One way is a schoolhouse where adults go to learn to read and write in Maa and Swahili. This was taken north of Dodoma, Tanzania in July of 2012. As we got to know them, they let us take pictures and were amused when we showed them the digital images. I chose this picture because it represents the hope that Maasai women are giving their community and the connections that I formed there.
