How the Photo was Taken

Sony a9, mirrorless camera, 16-35mm lens, captured at f/11, 1/200 SS, ISO 1000. Cropped slightly, adjusted contrast and saturation in PhotoShop.

Photo Location

Highland Mary Lakes near the Continental Divide Trail in the Weminuche Wilderness, San Juan National Forest, Silverton, Colorado. This photo was taken during a 5 day llama trekking adventure that my teenage daughter and I joined this past summer. Almost every afternoon skies darkened and thunderstorms let loose (normal during summer months at high elevation). This alpine lake sits at 12,310 feet.
