Photo Location

This photo was taken at Gull Lake on the June Lake Loop in California. I choose this photo as it pictures my Mum who had come to visit. I feel it captures an important aspect of travel - so much of what is so different from what you know, so much of that which wows you whilst travelling is so similar to what you have at home. We have trees, we have autumn weather, but we do not have Aspens like this that create a specific kind of beauty. I appreciate the fact that such a small difference such a species of tree can create such a magical and alien environment.
