This was shot using a Sony A7RII and the Sony 55mm f1.8 lens. This was shot nearly at ground level to catch the boat and background. Alter slightly using photoshop, just tweaking some adjustments and also slight crop.
Grand prize winner of Outpost Magazine's 2016 Travel Photo Contest. This is a shot of a Cormorant bird and his fisherman. Instead of focusing on the man I focused on the bird and at this moment the bird made the call and the man walked out of focus to the back of the boat. Located in Xingping village, Guangxi province, China; but don't be fooled- these are paid models dressing up and doing what photographers dictate to them. Not me though I was just a 'bystander' watching and clicking some pics when I could. This is a natural composition. Shot in the late gloomy afternoon.
Born in a small town in central Canada and worked as a Scientist for 7 years. Quit it all and sold my house to travel and take photographs. That was in 2012, since then I have traveled extensively over 18 countries spanning the globe and clocking over three and a half years in total. I specialise in Travel Photography and fund it all by myself. Winner of two national contest's- Outpost Magazine's Travel Photo Contest 2014 and 2016.
