Conquering Summer Travel Aches

By Lisa Niver, TYLENOL® Brand Partner

In the dynamic realm of travel, summer beckons adventurers far and wide to embark on journeys filled with excitement and discovery. As a seasoned explorer, I’ve traversed diverse landscapes and immersed myself in countless cultures, all while encountering the inevitable discomforts that accompany the thrill of exploration. This summer, I have teamed up with TYLENOL to share how being prepared has helped me manage minor aches and pains while on-the-go.

Embrace the Adventure: Imagine trekking through rugged terrain, the allure of nature unfolding before your eyes. Suddenly, a twinge in your muscles threatens to impede your progress. Fear not – with TYLENOL Extra Strength Caplets  nestled in your pack, you can conquer those trails with ease. This 10-count travel size fits easily into any carry-on bag to ensure that you have pain relief on-hand when you need it most.

One summer project stands out vividly in my memory. While in Belize on a research expedition with Earthwatch, I found myself tasked with carrying scuba tanks onto the boat and back for refilling. The tanks, hefty and cumbersome, took a toll on my back, leaving me with aching muscles. It was in moments like these that TYLENOL PRECISE provided maximum strength and targeted pain relief for my minor aches and pains.

Defeat Jet Lag: Jet lag, the perpetual adversary of travelers crossing time zones, can cast a shadow over the excitement of arrival. The most important thing to me is to be prepared for a long flight. I select a window seat and bring a neck pillow, a sarong to use as a blanket and most importantly an eye mask so I can try to get as much rest as possible.

Ease Sunburn Pain: Basking in the sun’s warm embrace is a quintessential part of summer travel, but sometimes even with your trusty hat and sunscreen, you end up with a painful sunburn in one spot where the sunscreen missed. When I worked for Princess Cruises in the Caribbean, I noticed that many passengers would forget to put sunscreen on their feet especially when wearing flip-flops!

Combat Dehydration Headaches: Summer adventures often mean long hours spent under the blazing sun, increasing the risk of dehydration headaches. Last summer, I was paddleboarding in Puerto Rico and I believed since we were in the water, that I was not getting dehydrated, however that was not true. That trip taught me that drinking water was not enough and I now carry NUUN rehydration tablets which help restore my electrolytes. My trip was saved by taking TYLENOL Easy to Swallow, which is designed for people who dislike taking pills or have trouble swallowing, to alleviate my minor aches and pains so that I could enjoy my travels to the fullest.

Relief in the Airport: Airport hassles, from managing heavy bags to enduring long lines and crowded spaces, can take a toll on both body and mind. The last time my flight was delayed and then delayed again and then as it happens delayed again, I realized that the stress was manifesting as a clenched jaw, creating more discomfort. I listened to a meditation app, ate a healthy snack and practiced breathing techniques, which allowed me to better navigate the airport challenges.

Stay Prepared: Whether navigating bustling cities, enduring long flights, or exploring remote wilderness, my journey with TYLENOL has empowered me to conquer summer travel minor aches and pains with confidence. So pack your bags, fellow adventurers, and embark on your own odyssey – the world is yours to explore!
