Celebrating Summer at the Hollywood Bowl with The Princess Bride

Two of my most favorite things were happening together this summer—The Hollywood Bowl and the movie, The Princess Bride. I was so happy that the Bowl was open. It is truly a treasure of Los Angeles to be able to enjoy world class music in this outdoor amphitheater with friends.

A few video clips from the performance

I love the Dread Pirate Roberts on masks:

We saw The Princess Bride in Concert Sat. July 31, 2021

I agree with the show notes: “Missing this cinematic concert experience would be inconceivable! Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles… Experience one of the most beloved films of all time as never before – with the power of the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing a brand new orchestral arrangement of composer Mark Knopfler’s score live-to-picture in a world premiere!”

The film was introduced by the film’s legendary director and producer, Rob Reiner.

Los Angeles Philharmonic performed the new score led by David Newman, conductor.

If you have never read the book by William Goldman—it is a must read!
