Spring is Super in New York City April 2017

“Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” —Robin Williams

I love being in New York City at Spring time! This year I was there to celebrate a family birthday, see friends and go for my first visit to the New York International Auto Show. I had a really great visit and I want to share my new videos with you.

Spring in NYC: Lisa Niver loved the Auto ShowSomething New for my 50 before 50 Project: NY INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

On all my trips, I have been looking for something new to do for my 50 before 50 project. I went to the New York International Auto Show to meet the team from Venturi Automobiles and spoke with CEO, Gildo Pallanca Pastor. I am going to Monaco next month  in May 2017 to see the Formula-E race. This will be only the second time for the e-Grand Prix and I cannot wait to watch. Do you want to see the race? It is coming to Brooklyn in July! You can get your tickets now at this link. See my video below to learn more about the Auto Show, my VR experience driving Formula E and Monaco.

Spring in NYC: Full Moon at Hilton Garden InnWhere did I stay?

Hilton Garden Inn Central Park South

237 West 54th St.

New York | NY | 10019

I love this hotel and its location, which is actually the largest Hilton Garden Inn in North America. I have stayed there twice and both times loved the ease with which I can maneuver all around the city. It is a short walk to the best of Broadway and fantastic food. Actually, I like to simply take the elevator downstairs and eat at Empire Steak House right on property because it’s great and so convenient. Specialties include Chilean Sea Bass and Spaghetti with Lobster in Spicy Tomato Sauce. They even have a selection of more than 230 wines! I also like the onsite 24-hour Pavilion Pantry Market – a staple at hundreds of Hilton Garden Inns around the globe which is always great when you’re on-the-go. Whether you need a healthy snack, water or a sandwich, they have you covered. As I’ve learned with Hilton Garden Inn, they will always take care of you and have a lot of great amenities. Additionally, I enjoyed the fitness center’s state-of-the-art equipment and even used the Business Center for a Twitter chat I was hosting. As an added benefit, the hotel’s Wi-Fi is lightning fast and easy to access which I know anyone can appreciate. It is just an all-around fantastic hotel, and the Team Members here go above and beyond.

See my video for a great view of my time in NYC, and be sure to check out my room’s very own (huge!) private terrace I enjoyed!

What did I do?

I saw two Broadway shows which I really enjoyed. I can highly recommend A Bronx Tale. Someone told me it is a cross between Jersey Boys and West Side Story which is accurate. I can almost call it Jersey Boys 2. I loved the music, the performers, the story and the energy.

The story behind A Bronx Tale with Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden is incredible. Here is a quote from the Playbill which intrigued me, “While every sixth-grader knows that Henry Ford devised the assembly line and Thomas Alva Edison patented the electric light bulb, Arden and Rubinstein are given scant credit for the billion-dollar empires and global industry they founded, the only women of their time to have their companies named after them.” They were entrepreneurs in beauty and pioneers who talked about diet and exercise and even gave free samples to Suffragettes.  I am going to look for a biography of each woman to learn more about their stories.

Spring in NYC with FRIENDSThe best part of my trip was to see family and friends and celebrate birthdays, Passover and time together. I love to travel all over the world but the most important thing is to spend time with the people I care about. As Harold Kushner says, “No one ever said on their deathbed ‘I wish I’d spent more time at the office.’ ” Make sure you get to see some Spring flowers bloom and make progress on your hopes and dreams. More news soon from Monaco–my #97th country! I am so excited for my first visit.
