After arriving in Haad Yao on Koh Phangan we had almost two days of rain. When the skies cleared we enjoyed the pristine beach. Fonto Mak Mak means Lots of Rain!
We walked from Haad Yao to Haad Salad and to Mae Haad and back again. One surprise on our walk was elephants. They give elephant rides and you can touch the monkeys. It was not the most respectful set up for the animals. During the night, we heard animals noises! At first, I thought it was cows but it was large frogs!
All three bays in North West Koh Phangan are pretty but I am certain more lovely on a sunny day when the blues of the water can really be seen. It has been rainy and misty and not particularly nice but not pouring down. I did have a huge wipe out as we walked and lost my footing and all my belongings but I survived to wander back to Sandy Beach Bungalows. One sunny day, we enjoyed the snorkeling at Haad Yao.
Danni from Sandy Beach Bungalows (500 Baht $16usd fan room with breakfast) gave me a fire dance lesson and we watched his show.

I love how inexpensive it was to stay on Haad Yao. It looks so different in September from when I visited in March! But great picture of the sunset. Chanel @ LaViajeraMorena recently posted..Travel Blogger Interview with Journeying James
